John Francis Branegan (1843-1909) was a Dublin-born watercolour painter who visited many parts of Britain, painting coastal scenes. He lived and had a studio in Whitby, an area where he painted many of his best works.
 
This particular watercolour study is of Whitby Harbour and is in fantastic overall condition.  Newly framed and glazed.
