An elegantly carved Guro tribe 'Zamble' mask – Ivory Coast.
The Gouro (Guro) people, also known as Kweni, are a Mandé-speaking ethnic group primarily residing in the valley regions of the Bandama River in Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). With a population of over 500,000, they are best known for their rich masking traditions and the vibrant Zaouli dance.
This mask is in very good condition with only light age-related wear and tear.
