A wonderful early 19th-century Georgian (Circa 1830) blue & white transferware dinner service illustrating the 'Ladies of Llangollen' pattern, featuring 13 dinner plates and two meat plates.
The service contains a mix of both Cambrian Pottery and Glamorgan Pottery versions (This style was manufactured concurrently by both potteries). Some are stamped with an impressed Prince of Wales Feathers mark (Glamorgan Pottery), and others have 'Dillwyn Swansea' printed verso (Cambrian Pottery) .
Please see the link here for more information on the Ladies of Llangollen and how this wonderful pattern came to be.
The overall condition of the full set is very good. One meat dish and some of the plates have several small surface chips to the rim; the other meat dish and plates are in very good condition with only some minor discolouration.
