A simply stunning Chippendale-style George III (circa 1760-1780) mahogany writing table. The upper portion has a galleried top with two sliding tambour-fronted doors opening to reveal seven divisions above three drawers. The main writing surface, with a retractable centre section, sits over three frieze drawers and is raised on beautifully channelled square legs on block feet with castors below.
An amazing example of late 18th-century furniture making and design.
