A late 19th-century transfer-printed Britannia pattern butter dish by the Victoria Pottery, Glasgow. Printed in brown and enamelled and gilt with BRITANNIA RULES THE WAVES. DL & S 'Britannia' stamp to the base.
The Victoria Pottery was established by David Lockhart and Charles Arthur in Cogan Street, Pollokshaws, in 1855.
The overall condition is good. Finish shows age-related staining, and there is a small crack to the knop handle. See images for details.
