A small late 17th-century oak coffer. The two-panelled top over a large open interior with an internal candle box, carved two-panel front and finished on stile legs, circa 1670/80.
 
Overall condition is very good with age-related wear and tear. Note:  The top still retains the original split pin hinges.  A wonderful original feature and still a useful piece of furniture in the modern home, 300 years after the original date of manufacture.
