A good quality mid-20th-century Italian toleware metal table lamp.  In the Empire manner, painted in gilt with tendrils and scrolls on a blue ground. 
 
In very good vintage condition with signs of age and patina on the base and shade, with some rust to the inner section of the shade.  Perfect for placement in the living room, hallway, bedroom, or office.
